  <p class="sqsrte-large">Food waste is a much more prominent issue than a lot of people realise, which is why we’re tackling the problem head on with our active silver packaging. During the summit, we elaborated in detail on the fact that we specialise in silver colloids, derived from an array of organic natural plant extracts, including fresh herbs such as oregano. Silver is renowned for its antibacterial, antimicrobial properties, and we’re harnessing its power to reduce the amount of food we waste as a race.&nbsp;</p><p class="sqsrte-large">Our patented silver colloidal suspension can be used to help inhibit the growth of bacteria. When applied to various packaging materials such as paper, plastics, and bioplastics, the solution creates an environment in which it is incredibly difficult for bacteria to grow and multiply. We see potential in health, cosmetics, and more. Coming to Web Summit Qatar will help us spread awareness and raise funding to bring this vision to life.</em>’</strong></p></blockquote><p class="sqsrte-large">We’re proud that our mission to use green chemistry to address the global food waste crisis resonated with so many people. It was enough to earn us a spot in the finals among 35 other startups and ultimately bring home the win.&nbsp;</p><h2>What’s Next for Metalchemy?</h2><p class="sqsrte-large">While being very proud of our win in Qatar, as far as we’re concerned, this is only the beginning for Metalchemy.&nbsp; Our victory at the PITCH Competition has helped open up a wide range of business possibilities, setting the stage for things such as investments, partnerships, funding, and collaborations.</p><p class="sqsrte-large">What we’re most excited about however, is that we’re helping to showcase just how powerful silver can be, not as a trading commodity, but rather as a way to tackle the global food waste crisis we find ourselves in.
